Alternative Medicine for Pets/Rhodesian Ridgeback - neck injury

Question
I have a female Rhodesian Ridgeback that is 7 yrs old. She sustained a neck injury with the neck at s4-s5 that is causing her to limp on her front left leg.  Steroids made it go away but when she went off it came back.  A mri would be outragously expensive and surgery dangerous.  She is happy and doesnt seem in pain the limp goes away after about 15 minutes.  She limps for a short time when she first gets up or relaxes.  It has something to do with spacing in the neck.  I have switched her to wearing a harness to walk.  Can you give me any advice on how to deal with this naturally and avoid surgery?
