Alternative Medicine for Pets/dissolving earwax in feline;

Question
Hi:  I have 10 year old cat who been scratching at ear.
I looked into ear and saw earplug of wax . She had this before and the first opinion of a Vet was she had a fleshy tumor. I was out of town with her.  her regular Vet. saw her and said it was earwax and removed it promptly.  That was 3 years ago.

I put olive oil in her ear and the next day I removed a huge ball of something black proceeded with a huge earplug.  The problem is, she still is having trouble with that ear.  When I look into ear I can see that some earwax is still in there.  I hate to take a Vet because it is so traumatic to her.  I need to know how to proceed from here.    Thank you

Answer
Hi Nicki - Well, you can try some olive oil or corn oil - followed by 1/4 of a cotton ball placed into the ear.  ( to hold the oil in for a little while????)
Otherwise, I don't know what to offer you.  The vet has a special tool to pull out objects and ear wax.  There is not much you can do at home except the oil.

Good luck
