Question
My 14 year old min-pin has been diagnosed with kidney failure.
He has never had a health problem before this. When he has the subcu fluids he runs around like a happy healthy dog. The subcu fluids really help but when I do it at home he seems traumatized. Is there anything else that can help him feel good? I hate to put him through this if there is an alternative.

Also, I've been told there is no hope for recovery. He will just get worse until it kills him. Is there an alternative option that can make a difference.
Thank you, Debbie

Answer
Hi Debbie , I am so sorry about your min-pin and the kidney failure.  The Sub Q fluids are very helpful for the condition, as you know.  I don't know of any alternative options except some home-cooking recipes for kidney failure clients and a few supplements.
There is not much you can do for this baby.
If you are unhappy with the dog food, I can give you some recipes to make at home.

Let me know ?
Blessings to you....
