We have 11 cats and are still recovering from hurricane Ike, so the cost of flea meds at this time is a big problem. I have read several places on the web that garlic or vinegar in their food is effective but none said HOW MUCH so need top know please please....

Hello Virginia, With cats you need to be very careful not to give too much garlic.  You can sprinkle some PURE garlic powder - just a dash or two into each cat bowl.
If they don't have individual bowl, you can get some of this:

IF YOU HAVE A SICK CAT / POOR KIDNEYS - DO NOT GIVE ANY GARLIC TO THAT CAT.......
