Question
well i dont know if this relates to your category, but i was wondering if rabies can run through the family. every google search is bringing things about a girl named rabid who sells clothes..... thank you for taking the time to read this question. i really hope you can help! =)

Answer
Hi Eve
As far as I know rabies is a viral infection, therefore it is not carried genetically.  So, while an animal can develop the virus and pass it onto others through biting, it does not mean that offspring will carry the virus.  However, it is always possible that an infected animal can pass the virus onto unborn or new-born offspring in some cases.
I hope that helps you.
Regards,
Silva.
