my italian greyhound was deeply bitten on the back by a german shepherd.  Received stitches, rimadyl for pain and an antibiotic.  healing well and stitches are due out tomorrow but has developed severe bruising on stomach and sides of penal shaft - is this blood from the bites and has pooled there or maybe something else?  doesn't seem to bother him.

Wow Monica, So sorry about this!  Well, sounds like the ecchymotic areas are from the trauma.  The areas will appear 3-5 days after an attack.  I am sure you vet will tell you it is normal after an event like your dog has experienced.

Good Luck and Make sure the owner of the dog takes care of the VET bill, if possible.
