Alternative Medicine for Pets/Umbilical hernia

Question
I have 4 puppies that are about 7 weeks old. They have hernias due to the over zealousness of the dam tearing them. I have since learned not to let her do it. However, I have 3 females that the hernias according to my vet will close on their own and a male that has a slightly larger hernia. Is there any way to fix it without surgery, ie massage area to encourage slight inflamation and new cell growth and put a small pressure splint on?

Answer
Michelle, I am sorry but I am not a breeder.  Also, as far as I know most hernias need surgical repair if they don't reduce the size within 8 months.

I wonder if you can go to our Breeding and Whelping experts with this question.... They may be able to help you.

Sorry
