Alternative Medicine for Pets/female bulldog pup

Question
I am keeping my brother's new bulldog, Pepsi.  She is approx. 8 months old and it seems that she has been in heat the last 10 days.  We have a female Jack Russell, and they get along wonderfully.  My question is, Pepsi's vulva area is extremely enlarged to where it looks almost like a male's.  It hangs down and she needs to urinate more often.  Is this normal? And I see that they may stay in heat for 3 weeks.  Will she bleed this entire time?
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
Astra Houff

Answer
Hello Astra, Yes, this is all normal for your gal...Sorry!
As for the bleeding, it can be 14 to 20 days.... just depends on the dog.  Sorry, just tell him to get her spayed in the future or make sure he stays home with her.

HAVE fun!
