Alternative Medicine for Pets/1 cat dead and 1 dying (link) PURINA

Question
I lost a cat due to kidney shutdown in May 2009:  My daughter is losing her cat companion to kidney shutdown:  My second cat is beginning to lose weight...

Two households with one thing in common -- PURINA CATFOOD:  FANCY FEAST wet, FANCY FEAST dry, and PURINA ONE.  I feel that this is a public emergency, but not one person is speaking up, or connecting the dots.  When will something be done.  What can we do for Mocha, the angelic one who is dying?

Is there an alternative medicine (herb) that we can give to Mocha(he is dying/taking appetite stimulant), and to Luella should she lose her kidney function as well?

Please, please hurry with your answer.  Mocha has been seen by a vet and my daughter was made aware of his impending death.  I experienced the same with my wonderful and loving Dallas 2 months ago, and my Luella is losing weight...

Thank you,
Anne

Answer

cat food recipes
Wow Anne, I am sorry but the Kideny Disease ( shutdown) is very common in cats over the age of 8 yrs.  ( It is not just Purina's problem - many food companies make very poor quality dog and cat foods.)

The key to avoid kidney disease is WET cannded cat food and adding
x-tra water to the mix.  ( offering dry is not needed except as a snack).

A good quality food and supplements can help -
Please read my post on cranberry, nuvet supplements and home made cat food or SoJo's Brand.

I wish you luck!  I will keep you all in my prayers.
