Alternative Medicine for Pets/Alternative to corticosteroid;

Question
My cat has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (his skin is very flakey).  I’m still waiting for the results of the biopsy to confirm this diagnoses. The vet suggested corticosteroid. The problem is that he has an ulcer in both of his eyes. The vet said that this treatment will most probably leave him blind as his eyes will not be able to heal. Is there an alternative to corticosteroid to treat a skin related autoimmune disease that will not leave my cat blind?

Answer
Oh Tessa, I am so sorry to hear about this.
I don't know of any good alternatives to Prednisone.
Sorry....
Do some reasearch on herbs and homeopathic options.
I am sorry that I can't help.

BEST wishes to you and your cat....
