QuestionI have a 3 1/2 year old 11 lb tabby who has been going through a rough time for almost a year now. He has all the symptoms of IBD. My vet checked his stools and nothing appeared. She gave him something for parasites and diarrhea and nothing there either. She wanted him on Hill's LID and Purina Fortiflora. Nothing. I have changed his diet to Natural Balance LID and he shares a small can of "BG" (Before Grain) at night with his sister's. This diet has worked the best but he's still VERY soft and gassie. I want to introduce slippery elm into the picture but I am unsure as to how much I should give him. Can you help? I went through this with his sister about a year before and it lasted for months but the Fortiflora finally worked. They both had had treatments of Frontline for a couple months before they started acting like this. I wondered if the premitherine had something to do with killing off the good flora in them. She did it the first year and he was fine. The next year he started and she was fine and still is. HELP! Any suggestions are welcome! He eats, he drinks, he beats up his sister's, he just has this poopie issue. Thanks
Answer
Alice - yes, I have some ideas for you and your poopie cat kid.
I don't think the slippery elm will be too helpful.
I have a few others things I would like you to try:
1. Add some SoJo cat food to your feeding just 1 x per day and do the Natural balance food the other feeding.
The SoJo is a mix and you add your own lightly cooked meats - I would add most white with red just 1 x per week.
Both your cats will love the SoJo!!!
SoJo is sold at many stores all over the world.
You can use the link for free shipping :

2. I would love to see your Tabby kid take some NuVET powder supplement daily / all you need is about 1/2 teaspoon per day mixed into some WET food or SoJo food.... NuVET is an immune system booster and Allergy blaster / ALSO - helps Digestion.
Both cats can have NuVET daily : 1000s of cat kids take NuVET supplements thru a lifetime...KEEPS the VET away.

YOU are looking for the NuVET Feline Formual -
Tell them pet Nurse Marie Peppers sent you from AllExperts.com
Also, give referral code 81098 / Not sold in stores/
Sold thru Holistic vet offices and some special breeders.
3. If you don't have a Probiotic - I would love to see you get some Flora Force into your Tabby. ( open the capsule and mix into some wet food 1 x per day - VERY long term )
Flora Force *** Will get rid of excess yeast in the skin and intestines...
( YEAST overgrowth will cause loose or soft stools.)
I love Nature's Sunshine Flora Force-
