Alternative Medicine for Pets/Lil Man doesn't like to go poop

Question
My 5+ yr old shitsu/terrier mix is 22 lbs and a couch potato. He has been eating a BARF diet for the two years that I've had him. He doesn't like to go poop. It's a big deal for him. He goes round and round in the yard for several minutes before going and then squats and walks for another minute or two to complete the job. He will go two or three days before going. He went a week last month. I gave him pumpkin and slippery elm and that didn't help. I took him to the vet and she gave him Reglan for two weeks and a laxative and a worm medicine (he had hook worms). He did go then. Now that that is all over we are right back where we were before.

When I first got him I noticed he had a bit of blood on his butt when I wiped him, now he doesn't and the vet didn't detect any foreign objects.

I think he just doesn't like to go. Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Mary

Answer
Mary, I would change your little guy over the the SoJo home cooking and you can do Raw meat or lightly cooked meat.  ( I would cook the meat for him)
SoJo - Grain free mix will help his digestion so very much!
It is easy to do and you can make up 4 days worth of SoJo in advance.

SoJo is sold in many stores all over the world.

Also, you may want to give him a good supplement like the NuVET-
We have great luck with our clients that have digestive and stool troubles...They take 1/2 a nuvet wafer per day - your baby would need 1 full wafer per day ---- long term.....
SEE here :  http://www.nuvet.com/81098
You are looking for the NuVET plus wafers or powder.
Use referral code 81098

AS far as the Slippery Elm - it can be helpful - you can give a small dosage every day or every-other-day.

Try the SoJo
and BEST of luck!
