Alternative Medicine for Pets/Scotty with pancreatitis

Question
QUESTION: Hi Marie,

My 10 tear old Scotty is a mess.  About 8 months ago he ingested what we
believe to be a poison mushroom in our yard and had a sudden and severe
reaction.  10 days at the specialty vet and fifteen thousand dollars later, he is
still on his feet, but has had a series of strange symptoms. These include hair
loss, lack of coordination, and muscle weakness.  The hair loss seems to be
correcting itself, but the other two symptoms have gotten worse.
His Liver Enzymes are elevated(they were high before the incident), but blood
sugar is good when we test.  He is also hypothyroid and on soloxine for life.
his T4 levels are good.

The biggest problem has been trying to prevent pancreatitis attacks as he
suffered necrotic pancreatitis from the poisoning.  Any dietary suggestions
you can give or other advice would be helpful.

Most appreciatively,

Victor

1.  Low fat, as you know will help the pancreas attacks

Here are some good ones you can use:

*Light - chicken soup for the Pet lovers soul

* Blue Buffalo Weight control
http://bluebuff.com/products/dogs/lp-lite-chick.shtml

YOU can also go with SoJo GRAIN free mix and add your LOW fat cooked meats:  ( white meats only )

2.  Also, It would be wonderful to place your Scottie on the NuVET supplement - IMMUNE system booster / Adds new PUPPY energy to old dogs.  It is all natural and worth a try.
http://www.nuvet.com/81098
I would give him 1 1/2 wafers long term... ( most dogs only take one wafer of the NuVET Plus )
Call in for quick shipping:  Holistic and not sold in the pet stores.
Sold by Holistic vets, some breeders and here:
1-800-474-7044  ( use referral code 81098 and tell them pet Nurse Marie sent you )

If you would like more supplements , let me know....Starting the NuVET is safe and quality.
Keep me posted....LET me know if you guys try the SoJo cooking????

QUESTION: Thanks Marie,

We call Chester the "Miracle Dog" because whatever problems get thrown at
him he always seems to bounce back.  Right now I have him on the Hills RX
diet WD which he is tolerating well.  It looks like I'll finally be able to increase
his food intake and hopefully replace lost muscle.

I'm beginning to think that he may be suffering from Cirabella Abiotrophy  as
he has developed a "drunken walk" and his head bobs a bit when he sits.  His
coordination is terrible, so he just moves realllly slow.  He's always had
Hypothyroidism so it's hard to nail down what's going on neurologically
without some very expensive testing.

The funny thing is we adopted our Scottie from one of the nation's best
Scottie Breeders, Stonehedge Kennels.  It's the same line that Barney, the
president's dog came from.  They've produced some of the best Scottie Show
Dogs in the World, and they are wonderful in terms of disposition.

Thanks for your help and the diet suggestions.

Victor

nuvet plus powder or wafers
nuvet plus powder or w
Yes, I remember Barney Bush and his COOL web site!
Oh, and his scottie sister, too!

Try the SoJo - it may help and he will LOVE you cooking for him.
Also, we have had great results with the NuVET supplement / brings life back to some of our Elderly clients....Many times gives them puppy energy?  ( who knows!)

Keep me posted!
BEST wishes
