QuestionI have a 5 year old NS Duck Tolling Retriever that is constantly chipping, cracking, splitting or breaking his toenails completely off. It is usually the outside nails on the front paws and it happens when he is chasing the ball on land. Our vet suggested Zinpro which he has been on for 2 years and does not seem to make any difference.
Can you suggest something to strengthen the nails so the poor boy doesn't have to suffer any more?
Answer
Hi Kim - Well the Zinpro product looks like a Zinc compound.
I would try something else for your boy:
1. Go to any health store and get some Vitamin E ( 150 IU ) just 1 per day - long term....VERY safe and all natural
( this is the Vit E for humans)
2... Please call the NuVET folks and order some of the NuVET Plus Supplement - They will ship to Canada for an x-tra fee.... Wonderful and worth the money - PLUS - they give you a 60 day money back guarantee....
No risk and All natural: not sold in any stores : Holistic and thru many holistic vet offices...

YOU want 2 NuVET wafers per day for the first 15 days and then 1 1/2 per day long term - they break in 1/2 very easy.

ALSO - If you ordered off the internet E-Store please let the NuVET folks know you are working with Marie Peppers and referral code 81098

They do call "all" internet orders to make sure you are the person who ordered /// protection for you...
Don't forget the verify my referral code.
Also, if you want - change you food over Slowly to a grain free food - Innova EVO or Wellness Core - Merrick Before grain????
Let me know if you need help with a food change.
Corn and rice are not good for your dog's claws - make sure the food has very little to no corns as fillers.
BEST wishes
thanks so much
