Alternative Medicine for Pets/supplementing a pregnant pitbull with NuVET Plus ;

QuestionHi Marie,
We have three UKC registered pitbulls, Chaos (4 year old male), Cypher (3 year old female), and Bear (11 month old male)......Daddy, Mommy, and Puppy respectively. (lol) They are my babies, and I absolutely adore them. My female, Cypher, is pregnant with her second and last litter. The pups are due on July 4th. She is a small female, and judging by the size of her at this point, I think that we are looking at another very large litter. (She had 11 her first time out...). I would like to know if it would be safe to give her Nu-Vet supplements in her "condition". She was a very good momma to the last litter, but she also had a very hard time physically. She lost a tremendous amount of weight, and although she ate like a pig, she just couldn't keep up. She also broke out with a rash of some sort, and lost large patches of hair all over her body. She was under constant vet care, and was tested for every skin condition under the sun to no avail....everything tested negative. They chalked it up to "hormonal baldness", told us to ween the puppies (they were a little less than three weeks old) as quickly as possible, and began a month long regimen of antibiotics. In the end, she was alright, and we had a litter of strong, healthy, pups, thank goodness. Cypher is in the best shape of her life right now. I'm just worried about the same situation repeating itself. My boy, Chaos, also is prone to skin conditions. I feed my guys Blue Seal Natural 26, and I mix it with brown rice and either real beef or real chicken (we alternate through-out the week) and a few tablespoons of fish oil. We have always been a little leery of supplements, as we feed our guys very well. Do you think that my guys would really benefit from the Nu-Vet supplements? Are they safe for my female? And also, would it be safe to give to the puppies as well, and when would I begin supplementing the pups? Is there any type of bulk discount on this stuff?

pitbull puppies supplements; pitbull whelping momma supplements;
Yes Lea, For Momma Cypher the NuVET would be wonderful for her!
Many moms-to-be and whelping moms take the NuVET each day - I would give her 1 1/2 per day long term. This will strengthen her immune system and help her to fight to keep her Health.
Also, for Chaos, 1 1/2 to 2 wafer per day will maintain his health and NuVET keeps the VET away!
The pups can have NuVET powder after they are 8 weeks of age - prior to that they get it from the MOM's milk.
As for a bulk discount - they only give 15% off on Auto-ship orders.
That should help a bit - every bottle will get 15% off.
Tell them Pet Nurse Marie sent you over: You can't get this in any pet store: Holistic and VERY safe...

After the pups - MOM may be able to go down to just 1 NuVET per day ... see how she does.

You are looking for NuVET wafers and the NuVET powder: PUPS do well on the powder from 8 weeks to 14 -16 weeks of age.
Then, they can graduate to 1/2 or 1 full wafer per day.
About dog foods: All of them may have some supplements added but, IN the Cooking process, they get weakened or destroyed.
NuVET has had GREAT luck with pitbulls - keeping them healthy and adding bulk and muscle!
