Expert: Herbs, NuVet Plus Supplements, Dog/Cat Food Recipes; ( Marie) - 8/26/2009

We have a 9 year old male yorkie that has osteo-arthritis. The vet has him on Metacam. He is just "ok" on it. He is also on azathioprine (compounded 5mg) for his nasal allergies to keep him level. It's an auto-immune chemo drug. He gets on 5mg per day. He has not been on prednisone this year except fr one time. Last year he was on pred off and on to get his allergies stable. They seem to be fine now. We have since bought 2 air purifiers and I monitor the humidity level in the house for him (and us). We live in Dallas, TX.

I'd LOVE to get him on something natural, but want to make sure that it won't interfere with his azathioprine.

He's about 8-9lbs. He is also on Cosequin DS daily.

Please advise what we should put him on......

I would think your little Yorkie will need 2 per day for about a month and may then go to 1-2 per day...Depends on how he feels.
Let me know how he does with the NuJOINT?
