Alternative Medicine for Pets/Feline overgrooming, chronic runny eyes, balding wet-looking chin

Question
Hi Marie,

Puanani came to us about 6 yrs ago in an awful state….a malnourished kitten covered with ringworm and dirt and oozing from every orifice.

Looking at her from the top, she looks gorgeous.  Straight on, from below and behind is a different story.

She has chronic runny eyes…some days better than others, but never dry.  She doesn’t cough, sneeze or wheeze.

Her chin looks wet and is bald.  She gets acne from time to time (I clean with witch hazel and then apply Neosporin).  Recently, her acne is in two places on jaw (we use stainless bowls that are washed twice daily).

From her mid abdomen to her legs she is patchy or bald.  Her lower abdomen is completely bear as is her rear.  Her tail can have better times than others, but is often closely barbered nearest the base, underside.

She eats well.  Her food is Natural Balance Venison and Green Pea canned and IVD Venison and Green Pea.  We have a cat who appears to be allergic to grains and poultry (after repeated veterinary shots and pills, I decided figuring out the diet was the solution for Alvin…and it was), so everyone eats this food now.  I don’t think the food had any impact on her overgrooming.

She is skittish and will shut down easily.  She doesn’t handle change of any kind well (I cannot even get her to come to a different part of the house).  When we moved from Hawaii to the mainland, my mother-in-law took her and the others during the transition and had to hand feed Pua.

Trying to medicate her definitely increases her stress (and she will drool like Niagara Falls).  She likes to lie still on top of me, but any noise or commotion will send her flying.

I’m getting ready to consult with a Holistic vet (tho not thrilled that they call the shots, even demanding a $50 deposit via mail or fax PRIOR to scheduling an appt!).  I’m usually very successful diagnosis and treating my animals (my husband gets mad b/c we essentially pay a vet to confirm my diagnosis.  I just lack a veterinary degree and an Rx pad.)  And, I often find more natural ways to deal with my animals’ ailments…with success.  However, I’m at a loss for Pua.  I googled one more time before faxing in that vet appointment form, and found a link to you and NuVet.

Many thanks,
Pam

Answer

Cats love the NuVET po
Cat vitamins ; ALJ liquid from Nature's Sunshine-
Feline respiratory symptoms; ALJ liquid and NuVET feline formula;

Wow - Pam - I would love to help you...
I have 2 supplements I would like you to try - yes, the NuVET feline powder - it is easy to hide in some wet cat food or even some cottage cheese.

The other is ALJ liquid / see here:
Next, Add this liquid to the drinking wafer each day - or place into the wet food of each cat - this helps with allergies and respiratory problems.  GET rid of the water Eyes.... good for all the cats in the house and dogs, too...

Nature's Sunshine:  AlJ liquid herb - give them the "children" dosage

http://www.mynsp.com/nuvetpetnurse/products/guide.aspx?stockNum=3166

Next, I would love to see them on NuVET Feline Formula - it will cost you about .30 cents per day per cat -  UNDER 10 lbs is only 1/2 dosage per day - small powder you mix into the wet food 1 x per day.   (* over 10 lbs 1 full teaspoon per day)

EXCELLENT to re-build the immune system and fight off allergies.  ***( I am sure the cat has a LOW immune system )
Also, gives them a very nice and healthy coat, too.

go here-

Make sure you write down my name as your referral:  1-800-474-7044
Marie Peppers order code 81098 and  ******Ask about the 15% off program...

AFTER just 2-3 weeks of the ALJ and the NuVET - you will see results -
CALL around because the ALJ is sold in many Health Stores that carry Human vitamins - ask them if they carry Natures Sunshine products.
The NuVET must be ordered - not sold in any stores/ thru Holistic vets

I hope this helps -  Keep me posted
