Question Okay so about a month ago my cat Paws had a swollen front paw, I looked at it but didn't see anything wrong with it so I assumed it was stung my a bee or wasp. Well now he isn't walking on it. It has an odor to it so I know it's infected. I see between his toes where the infection is. How can I treat it? I have some amoxicillin to stop the infection but how can I clean the paw?
Answer Hi Ashley
The best product to use to keep the infected area clean is Colloidal Silver. You can buy it in most health food stores. Colloidal Silver is anti-viral, anti-microbial and anti-bacterial. You use it undiluted and it is safe if your cats licks it. Just put some in a bowl and soak cotton pads/balls in the Colloidal Silver and then drip/rinse/wipe over the foot and inbetween the toes. If it is not getting any better after about 5 days then you really need to get Paws back to the vet. If the infection goes untreated it could result in gangrene and he may lost part of his foot.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Silva.
