Alternative Medicine for Pets/Collie Nose/ Loosing hair related?

Hi my 18 month old boarder collie -cattle dog mix has recently been showing the signs of having collie nose.  80% of her nose has turned pink and has traveled to her lips.

In the past 2 or so weeks she has lost her entire under coat and only has a smooth light coat left.  She continues to loose hair she will rub up against her bed and leave a smear of hair..!  I am very nervous..My husband never wants me to go to the vet, says it's a waist of money..I agree mostly however.. I really could use an opinion.  She went from a thick full almost wool like coat twice her body size to a slick almost (Dalmation like coat) in about 2 weeks....! Help

Deborah, Please see the vet ASAP.  I have many ideas but I would rather you see the vet for some blood work first.  I can help with supplements and oils but VET first.
Tell your husband her thryoid needs to be checked right away.
