Hello
I have a Shihtzu and she is 1 1/2 yr old.  She smells very quickly after I give her a bath.  In aprox 3 days.  It seems to be from her face. She does have a little bit of drippy eyes and I think the smell is coming from that area and just her face in general.  I try to wipe her face, but she still smells. Is there any thing that can help with this?
Also she is continually itching.  I have her on 1/2 tablet of pretazone every other day, which seems to make it better for the itching.  I do see some little hot spots when I brush her.  She also bites/licks her paws.

Hi Debbie - I am glad you wrote to me.  Yes, I can help your little shih tzu.  
Sounds like an over-growth of yeast bacteria related to allergies.
Let's make a few changes and you will see results in about 3 weeks.

1.  Please place her on some yogurt ( MUST be the Activia brand )  4 ounces per day for 1 month.
YOU can get the active cultures kind - Activia in van or plain flavors.
This will help the smell and the bacteria.

2.  Give her a bath just every 10 days in tea tree oil shampoo from the NuVET folks - ordering info below:  tea tree shampoo ( Hot spot shampoo) is Wonderful for the itchies and smelly yeast...  I believe it is about 10.00 per bottle
You can use a baby wipe ( unscented ) on her eye area - try to buy the ones that are x-tra soft.

3.  Please start your shih tzu on the NuVET plus supplement.  The NuVET is an Allergy blaster and immune system booster.... LET'S get control of the Yeast and allergies for good with NuVET-
NuVET has a wafer or powder:  Give 1 wafer per day or 1 teaspoon of the powder.
YOU can mix the powder into some wet food or even cottage cheese.
