Alternative Medicine for Pets/cat vomiting, respiratory problems and lack of appetite

QuestionDear Marie,
My cat is 13 years old and has been having a constant problem with vomiting, refusal to eat or picky eating, allergies (cysts on paws and dirty nailbeds and dirty ears), dandruff and now she seems to have a respiratory infection after being at the vet. We have done several tests- bloodwork all seems normal except for higher than normal white blood cell count, xrays etc. The vet says she has inflammation somewhere, but they cannot tell. She most likely has allergies, but will not eat her 'hypoallergenic food' , homemade cat food, but will only eat poultry which I'm sure is what she is allergic to. We give her subcutaneous fluids twice a week which seemed to prompt the cold she has. The vet has advised me to give her 5mg of pecid ac every 12 hours, but she still was sort of hacking/ vomiting this morning. I am concerned that her immune system is low and that feeding her cooked chicken is not providing adequate nutrition. We have given her clavmox in the past, but I am sure that it does not work well with her and that since she has been administered it so much, that it isn't effective. I have given her drops of colloidal to start in her nostrils and by mouth, I also have tried a mix of homemade saline solution and goldenseal in her nose. I have heard garlic is good, but am worried it will irritate her stomach. I do not know the dosage of colloidal silver and if I am supposed to refrigerate it? I am willing to try anything, and I prefer holistic medicine for her. Any help is appreciated!
AnswerHi Sally, Wow - you have been a great advocate for your elderly cat.
I would not do garlic alone for her because it can be very hard on a cat's belly... So- no garlic for this old gal.
Next - I can give you a recipe for your cat - lamb rather than chicken...
Would you like this home-cooking recipe for her?
As far as the silver, I would just place a few drops in each nostril only. It will work well and go into the blood stream quickly. Do this just 2 x per day for a week and then go to just 1 x per day long term.
Also, I would love to see you get her onto the NuVET feline powder - this is an IMMUNE system booster and allergy blaster...
YOU can mix the NuVET powder and place in a syringe if needed. MOST cats owners use the NuVET powder mixed into some cottage cheese or yum yum wet cat food.
