Question
I have a 8 month on english bully, I got at 6 weeks of age. He was in perfect health, took him to vet next after we got him he was checked out throughly and was fine no worms or anything. I was told at about 6 months of age he had a heart mummer and it was 1&2, the vet said it may go away, as it was not detected at any visits when I got his shots, he seems to be fine but has these bouts of upset stomach from time to time he throws up and gets diahrea, I have a 8 year old female boxer also who is fine, we adopted her, she is a rescue dog, she has mothered him from the day we got him, they get along wonderful. I feed both of them Science diet, his eyes get red after he eats, they seen to pick at the food. I feed twice a day. I ask the vet if he could have a food allergy and he said he didn't think so. He is completely housebroken, he is crate trained, he is such a sweet heart now. We went thru all the biting, barking trying to bite at our feet and we seem to be past all that. He weighs 80 pounds and he is not fat by any means, my vet is surprised...his mom was a small minature bullie and dad was the small standard....Tebow was the runt and last one in the litter because he was so small....he plays a lot with my grandchildren, swims almost daily in our pool with the grand kids, we do put a life jacket on him, so he is not inactive. He sheds a lot...we had him checked again last month for worms and there are none..he is on heartworm preventive as well as my boxer.I am at a lost on the food....I don't know who to believe about the dog food...I live near Texas A&M university, I thought about trying to find out something from them but you have to have a referral and they are very expensive....My vet said he does not need vitamins, is this true? He says I worry too much, my dogs do not have fleas, I brush his teeth 3 times per week, that was a job in the beginning, but now he does not mind, I use dog toothpaste. at any rate I have rambled enough...I got home today and he was sick suddenly again and my boxer was fine. Its like after he gets it all up and out he is okay for a while. Do you think it could be the food? He is is not agressive with his food, they share the same bowl. He has never gobbled his food, he takes his time eating and chewing as my boxer does. This is my first bullie.....its been an experience! A good one...puppy stage is a lot of work with them...I read all I could before getting him, but there is still so much more to know about them, they are not the average breed by any means to me....but are well worth all the slobbery kisses you get from them and the loyalty....they definatley take time and lots of patience to get thru the puppy stage, but I will say in my 45 years of dogs I've never had one I housebroke so fast...it took patience and a steady routine.
People think I am nuts for going on about my bullie, I refer to him as Mr.Handsome and my boxer as Miss America

Science diet dog food Review; Grain-free dog foods ;
Let me know if you take any of my advice...?
Hi guys --- Thanks for the TeBow photo!!! So cute and energetic, too!
Yes, your vet has been brain washed into thinking that Science diet is a good dog food/ NOT -
It is full of JUNK fillers and many, many dogs and cats are allergic to it.
It also puts weigth on because of all the fillers.
Mr. Handsome needs a new grain-free food and some supplements for his allergies. I am sure he has Environmental allergies and food allergies.
Here is my plan for you guys:
Do a 50:50 mix of the Old food and New food:
Keep your little Tebow on the old food and MIX the NEW Grain FREE food x 20 days - AFTER that you may be able to do a 25:75 mix of the old food and new food: ( old food 25% and new food 75 %) - do that for another week.
Then 100% NEW food - all Grain FREE...
Also, only buy grain free treats: SoJo has some nice ones ( 2 flavors of grain-free)
