AnswerFeline Pancreatitis diet : let me know if you try the home cooking ?
** recipe for cats with pancreatitis - see if you can cook for your cat.
Feed your cat an easily digestible, low-fat diet if the diagnosis is pancreatitis.
Cooked or boiled chicken (no skin or bones) and rice is a safe choice.
*Do not feed your cat treats, particularly those high in fat while treating pancreatitis.
( look for low fat cat treats or dry cat food that is reduced fat, as a treat.....)
CAT food recipe:
Meat 98% ( lightly cook all meats)
ground raw turkey 1 pound - cook lightly
ground raw chicken 1 pound - cook lightly
Rice - White rice / 2 cups to every pound of meat. ( boiled white rice)
Vegetables 1%:
OPTIONAL --- not sure how your cat will do with this: *( do a test)
puréed, juiced, or steamed -- this should ideally be a salad.
( No onions for cats...)
Cats mainly need meat:
YOU can puree up a few veggies - Very small amount - 1/2 cup of puree to 1 pound of meat...
Here is the NuVET vitamin for Felines:
Offer this 1/2 teaspoon in the morning and 1/2 teaspoon in the evening.
Mix into some wet cat food or some very low fat cottage cheese...
Even low fat yogurt is fine to mix the NuVET powder into.
