Alternative Medicine for Pets/giving bones to dogs

Hi,
  I did a bad thing.  I gave the bone from our Christmas ham to our Shiz Szu and last night and all of today he has been vomiting up pieces of bone.  There may even be blood in the vomit.  I don't know when I can get the dog to a vet.  I am just giving the dog water, no food.  After 24 hrs the vomiting still goes on still producing little bones.  Can you recommend anything I can do to help him?

Oh No!  Call the vet first thing in the morning.  For now, if you can get some canned pumpkin into your little shih tzu it will help to coat the bones to pass.
So sorry, not much I can do for you.
Try the pure canned pumpkin - 2-3 tablespoons - EVEN 1 tablespoon will help to coat the bones.
