Question
QUESTION: I have a 2.5 year old male English bulldog, Boudreaux.  Since we got him at 10 weeks he has had the run of it.  We started with the pallet surgery as he sounded like an 80 year old chain smoker.  This helped but soon after his allergies set in.  We had him tested and he is allergic to the following foods:  peas, barley, rice, oats, soybean and yeast.  In addition he is allergic to molds, plans, human dander and pet dander.  This test was done is April of 09 and it hasn't stopped there.  He itches his face until it bleeds and becomes swollen around the eyes and face folds.  His ears became so bad that his right ear started to calciphy and we had to remove the vertical part of his ear canal.  Since that surgery his ears are much better.  He has been on numerous steroid treatments but they are only a temporary fix.  We have him and his brother Billy on a grain free diet.  It is Royal Canin Veterinary Prescription Rabbit and Potatoes.  He seems to do well on it but not well enough.  We have been to bulldog specialists and dermatologists who give us ointment and steroids that again are temporary fixes.  I read about Nu Vet and have placed an order today.  I am willing to try anything to help this little guy out.  We use Duoxo pads on him every morning and night and he gets ointment in between his toes when they are puffy and pink.  His medicine cabinet is larger than ours!  Please let me know if you have any information that may help or if you think Nu Vet will be a step in the right direction.  I appreciate the time.  Thanks.

Hi Amy, So glad you visited my site at all experts and have learned about the NuVet products.
Glad you ordered the NuVET Wafers.
I have some ideas for you and your Bullie boy.

We may need to make some food changes down the road.  It would be best to do a few things at a time. Many pets can have problems with the potato.

Let's Go with a good Probiotic.  I am sure this baby may have an overgrowth of yeast bacteria related to allergies and steroid use.

Look for PEARLS in the store; This is Natural and can be used with anything your Vet is ordering for this kid.
Get the strongest dosage of this Probiotic:
This is found at GNC, Walgreens, Walmart or CVS stores

PEARLS Elete
Proprietary Probiotic Blend
Lactobacillus plantarum, Bifidobacterium lactis, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium longum
PLEASE take the Pearls Probiotic at least 60 days.

Here is my NuVET bulldog page:  Make sure you save it to your Favorites:

By the way, How did you find the NuVET?  Did you read one of my articles?

Is your boy on any oils?  Oils or pill form of Fish oil, Salmon oil????
What treats do you give him?  ( are they also grain free treats)
Any table foods.

Please get back to me so I can help further.

QUESTION: Nurse Marie you are so quick!  Thanks for the reply.  I will head out today and get the Pearls and get him started.  I do not have him on any oils.  What are the benefits and what should I get?  I read about Nu Vet a year and a half ago and actually ordered some. I started him on them and then the Vet told us that he didn't need it that since he is on such good food that he will get all he needs through his diet.  I stopped and threw them out.  After seeing the vet and dermatologist and spending a small fortune I have decided to try my own research and give the Nu Vet a try.  At this point, I don't trust the vet anymore.  They never have any answer that works.  As for the potatoes, when we had him allergy tested in 09 is stated that he wasn't allergic to potato.  However, I have read that these tests can be faulty and he can grow into new allergies.  All of the food we have had him on has had potato (wellness, natural balance, core).  You name it, we have tried it.  The dermatologist thought that he was allergic to beef and chicken so we have taken him off all meats with the exception of rabbit.  As for treats we go to a holistic pet store in Chicago and buy grain free treats.  All of the treats he gets have none of the foods that he is allergic to in them.  We give a lot of sweet potato and green beans and carrots.  He likes his veggies.  Please let me know what kind of oil and anything else I could be doing.  He is a trooper but it pains me to look at his swollen wrinkles.

Answer

In the future, we can also talk about Colloidal Silver gel for the paws.  Right now, let's hold off on that.  I will refer you to a few good Silver brands in a few months.  LET's not do too many things at one time.
Remember, Natural takes time so give my ideas a few months.

Please call me at 803-424-2312 if you need more help or have questions about the oil.
I believe this is the best PEOPLE / Pet oil on the market.

Happy New Year!!
