QUESTION: This is a follow up concerning my question about probiotics.You recently suggested I either use the probios powder form or accidophillus from GNC.I decided just to put my dog on the probios digestive dog treats for now and then perhaps I will get her the powder latter.Are those good for her too along with the Nuvet Plus supplement she is taking?The reason I choose those for now is because she loves peanut butter and I give her 3 treats a day.She also gets one tespoon of flax seed twice a day added to each meal and so her digestive system seems to be working quite well.But I just wanted to ask you if you think the probios digestion dog treats were alright also as well as the powder.I wrote to the company and they said either the powder,treats,or tablet form of probiotics were similiar.

ANSWER: Hi Marcie,  Looks like the treats would be fine.  I don't know how many will = the 5 billion CFUs?
( See on the package if it say 2-3 treats per day = 5 million CFUs   )
***I like at least 1 Billion CFUs per day for an average to larger sized dog:

( Looks like the Powder offers 10 Million CFUs per dosage)

This product was to balance out the Excessive "Yeast" in her system.  (* the digestion is not the main concern as the Yeast bacteria control.

QUESTION: I was wondering if the 1 billion accidophillus from GNC is the one for people?I couldn,t find one for dogs there and I wanted to make sure I buy the right one.But I agree with you that this might be more supportive for my dog then the probios dog treats.

People Probiotics are the same for pets.  ( Sometimes just flavored like chicken or beef for pets)
Yes, the acidophilus for people at 1 billion CFUs is the same for pets.  ( GNC mainly sells to people as they are the ones with money)  --- Many folks buy human-grade quality for the pets.
So, yes the People one is fine.  That's what most of my clients use for dogs and cats.
JUST need to be creative and hide it in wet food, yogurt, or a pill pocket beef treat.
