| Comment | Thank you for your words. They do bring a bit of relief and consolation. I did euthanize Red shortly after I wrote you the email. I think I wrote to you because I wanted to make 100% sure I wasn't being hasty. The truth is that Red and I had many very happy years and I didn't want his last days to be of me forcing him to eat or repeated trips to the vet to be pricked and poked all the while knowing his sickness was irreversible and terminal. It's a tough thing to do and it's a shame that these choices have to be made under such duress when you're just not sure of anything. It is very very tough to be both loving and objective. You akways feel there's more that could've been done. I had the perfect opportunity to put Red to sleep under optimal circumstances and I took it. It's still very very hard...
