Hello,
I have a 3 year old chihuahua/pug mix and I just noticed a red bump like spot on her eyelid. I'm not sure what it may be. I have enclosed a picture for you aby advice would be helpful.

Thank you!

Answer
It isnt a stye its a follicle lump called A chalazion that which resembles a stye, but a marked difference is it usually grows away from the edge of the eyelid. It is caused by an eye duct blockage that develops in the eye’s lubricating gland.
Initial chalazion symptoms are swelling and tenderness. Eventually, they’ll form a white cyst like bump or lump within the upper or lower eylid.
Chalazia normally disappear on its own in a couple of months. You can speed this process along by applying a warm compress over the clogged eyelid several times a day. Keeping the compress tolerably warm helps drain your clogged up gland quicker.which can be many things, I would bathe gently with some salty water then apply some eye ointment daily from local drug store. I would also increase in the dogs diet plenty of fish oils and veggies to help improve immunity.
