Alternative Medicine for Pets/english bulldog rash

Question
My 2 yr. old English bulldog has a rash on the left side of his face. This rash started about 2 weeks ago and gets worse one day then better the next. The rash is red and is primarily around his eye. It is also on his cheek and neck. The hair seems to be thinning out in the areas of redness. He also gets dry, red, scaly lesions around his groin area but I'm not sure if they are related. It is itching him but it is not tender to touch. I have been using pet hydrocortisone spray on it and keeping it clean and dry but has been ineffective. We have not changed foods (purina) and are bathing him in a dog shampoo that is for senstive skin. I am unsure if we should take him to the vet because it could just be an allergy to something??? and of course it is very expensive. We do give him a multi vitamin occasionally but not consistently. Please help!!!

Answer
Hi Justi,  English bulldog rash;  I would take this baby to the Vet for a skin scrape.  They can look at the skin under a scope. It doesn't cost much at all to do a visual and scrape.
It may be a staph infection and could need antibiotics.
HOPE it is just Yeast !
I would love to help you with Natural herbs and supplements after you see the Vet.
I can help you prevent this form future erruptions with proper feeding and herbs.
JUST hard to help you when you don't know if it is an infeciton.

With that said,  Please see the Vet ASAP.

After you see your Vet please e-mail me here:

Let me know what the Vet says about this?

Thanks and good luck
