hello i have a English springer spaniel he is 15 years old he has a little arthritis in his spine but apart from that in good health. last couple of days he hasnt been able to get up off the floor, i took him to the vet who xrayed him but couldnt find anything wrong with his leg apart from inflamed nerve which she gave cortisone injections and tablets for.he still hasnt regained use of the back leg i was wondering should i try acupuncture has he has a healthy appetite and his playful and not given up on life, thanks if you can help
Hi David,
It sounds like there may be something wrong with his nerves, or at least the signal from his brain to his back leg. Acupuncture would certainly help. If he is still a healthy and happy dog, then you certainly should try what you can to get him back up and walking again. Do you have a vet that performs acupuncture? You may need several sessions, and at his age, these may need to be on-going on a weekly basis.
