Question
my friend has 3 pet mice and one of them just all of a sudden passed away last night everything was fine before she left for class but when she came back it was dead she said it was weird cause the tempture was fine and it had food and water and shelter everything it needed is it possible that it could have died from a broken heart thinking she was never coming back??

Answer
Dear Angie,
I am sorry to hear about your friend's mouse.  I am no mouse expert, but animals are highly sensitive and he could well have died from a broken heart.  However, he did have the other 2 mice for company, so I imagine that his cause of death may have been a heart attack, or perhaps he was unwell for some time, or perhaps it was old age.  Without a vet examination you wont really know the answer.
All the best.
Silva.
