I used to love grunge.  I like soundgarden, nirvana, and alice in chains.  I also like Tool.  I like metal that has a nice slow beat and words you can understand.  I feel like no music has come out that is any good since 1995.  Punk is okay.  I like leftie political music.  

What is new that I would like?

Audioslave is always good, since Chris is the singer :)

Bobnoxious, has some kick ass tunes as well, so if you can, try and find their stuff.

I have also been listening to Nine Inch Nails a lot of late, and started exploring their older stuff too, they got some wicked tunes!

I have to agree with you, a lot of the good music is from the 90's, so the best advice I have for you, is explore the 90's!  Check back, and listen to some albums that you havn't before, and make your own new music play lists!  The radio is stale with emo music, and crap, so do what I do, go back to the time music was good!
