Question
My mom is 85, suffered 3x with UTI and dementia. Now have her on feeding tube(60 mg) in a nursing home, 20 French. Mom will eat sometimes and sleep alot. Her food is chopped in a blender at nursing home. Can I do anything to increase her appetite? Her UTI is being treated with antibiotics and cranberry vitamin. Yes her body is falling apart but still has will to live. I have been her caretaker for years and now hard to let go. Thanx.

Answer
Hi Jim,
Thanks for writing.  I think your question warrants asking one of the medical phyiscians available on this website.

I am not understanding why she has a feeding tube and yet she eats by mouth?  Is this only to aide in nutrients?

I would suggest writing to one of the physicians...sorry i could not help.
