Alzheimer`s Disease/small vessel damage on MRI

Question
My MRI reported a lesion in frontal lobe white matter, and lesion in left cerebral penduncle. It also mentioned small vessel damage. I have not been diagnosed with diabetes or hypertension. What else can cause this?

Answer
Lesha, it can be caused by several things besides diabetes or hypertension.  Smoking can cause it, poor diet, hereditary genes.  High cholesterol can also be a culprit.

So if you have any of these things then I would make sure that you correct them, it may not fix the damage that has been done, but it will surely help prevent anymore.
