Question My husband is in late stage AD at home with caretakers and hopice care (all extraordiary people) Even though he sleeps most of the time and won`t open his eyes, whenever he is handled, i.e. being changed or getting dressed and undressed, he becomes very agitated and screams our . My voice of reassuranc sometime calms him down.It has been suggested that i purchase special clothes, similar to hospital johnnies and the like. Are you familiar with any site, or specialty shop i can find these items? Thank you so much Lori
Answer Hi Lori,
My condolences about your husband. I am so glad you have wonderful caretakers and support!
There are several good adaptive clothing providers. Check out Buck & Buck first. I can't remember other named companies, but if you type in Adaptive clothing for seniors, you will find it.
You also might try some very soothing music during times of caregiving. Little if No talking and as quiet a background, except for the music as well.
