Question
my mom is 75 and definetly having memory issues....problem with short term
memory ! where do i go first to kno for sure the diagnosis????  do you tell your
loved one they have it?  because she keeps telling me "im not stupid" there is a
clear problem taking meds every evening...

Answer
You should find a good geriatrician. Call the Alzheimer's Assos. And ask if there are any in your area or who they would recommend. If you are by a university hospital they should have a memory center. The Alzheimer's Assoc will help you deal with your mom. They have lots of pamphlets to deal with it. But get the diagnosis first. And tell your mom you know she isn't stupid, and that you will do whatever you can to help her!  Give her lots of hugs she is probably scared to death!
Good luck. Let me know how it goes. Paula
