Question
I am a caregiver for a woman with alzheimers disease. I was wondering if you could give me any tips for helping her deal with the disease and things I can do to make things easier on her.

Answer
Hi Judy,
This would take me more space than I am alloted to answer this question.  Without knowing where she is in the disease it is hard to help you specifically.

My biggest suggestion is to call your local Alzheimer's association and they have everything you could possibly want to read to help you.

Or you can write back to me and give me some more specifics on where she is in the disease process; how long has she had it, what is she able to do?, her age, what meds she is on, etc. and I will be happy to try to give you some help!

Hope to hear from you again. Paula

I can offer families and caregivers non-diagnostic answers to questions regarding the disease. I travel around the state giving courses on Alzheimer`s disease for nurses and CNA`s.
