Question
my mother will go through bouts of really bad diarrheal we put her on a liquid diet but that last a short time, does this come with altzimers?

Answer
Janet,

Your Mother's condition may be due to medication(s) she receives. If I new them, I could be more specific. The usual suspects are:

Aricept
Donepezil
Exelon
Galantamine
Razadyne
Reminyl
Rivastigmine

What can be done in any case, is increasing intake of fibers. Oats and oat bran, finely shredded vegetables, pureed fruits - separately or in combinations can be helpful.
