Question
Hi, my mom is in the middle stages of alzheimer but it seems the alzheimer
progress is faster now than the last couple of years. We used to play cards but
she doesn't remember how to play anymore. I was wondering if there are other
games or forms of entertainments that she could enjoy and also keep busy.

Thank you for writing.  It is wonderful that you spend time with your mother.

There are some very good resources on line for Activities to do with an Alzheimer's individual.

Please check out the Alzheimer Association website as it has a list of over 100 ideas.....anything from scrapbooking to artifical flower arranging.   

There are also some good books at your local library that give ideas.

Some things that worked well for me when i was an Activity individual in a nursing home were collages, "matching" game with cards - the picture cards work best, dominoes, etc.

Reminisce magazine is also an excellent monthly magazine that has lots of historical information to talk and reminisce about.   I highly suggest a subscription to it!
