About Greg
Expertise
I have been wrestling for 4 years and I can teach anyone a lot about wrestling. My coachs have told me in the past that i can be a great wrestler and that one day i will be on top. I like to help other wrestlers be the best they can be by helping them out when they need it. So if you have any questions about moves of if you should go to wrestle please ask me about it. Please do not send me stuff about the WWE. I use to wrestling but I currently do not. Although I am not currently wrestling, I still remember the hard times I went through which made me stronger and I like to pass on my knowledge to other generations.

Experience
I have about 4 years experience in wrestling.

Question
QUESTION: Hey Greg,
I'm not sure if you've even felt this way, but here it goes.
I've been wrestling two seasons, as I wrestle better wrestlers  I felt like I'm always the one being high up in the air.
For example, my opponent seems to be able to lift me so much more and higher now. When I hit a stand up, they claws me and thew me on my back (it's okay I fought hard).
And when I do get out, my sprawl seems to be less effective and whoosh... I'm in the air again.
Is there anyway I can train my center of gravity, that you know of?
Thanks much

-Yang

ANSWER: Hey Yang,

Uhh i have never had that problem. Although I can suggest something for sprawls. Perhapes you are not doing the cross face hard enough. Sometimes people forget that and that is one of the key things when you are doing a sprawl. Also, for the stand ups, you need speed and you have to remember to walk away from the opponent at a rapid speed so he's trying to keep up with you and then you cut out. Sometimes it's all about speed and technique. I don't know how to change the center of gravity but I don't think thats the problem. Try to see waht else you could be doing wrong. I hope that helps.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Hmm, I think I've always cross face hard enough. The problem is usually that I can't really crossface because I'm in the air and whatever I throw at him will either slide off his face or push myself further into the air... eek.
Normally, whilest in the air, I'm just thinking 'put me down lightly and not on my back...' Not much I can do without a base.
I'm gonna try some freestyle conditionings to see if that helps.
By the way do you think that there is a certain type of 'build' that accompanies a certain types of moves?

Answer
Well if what you are asking is "Does weight effect what move you do" then i'd say yes. Each weight has a speciality. For example if you are a 103 weight class, you wouldn't try a bear hug because it's doubtful you could get that close without having your opponent take a shot at you. Just like a heavy weight wouldn't do a sit out, turn in, sit out, turn out. Lighter guys have more agility while heavier guys go with brute strength. I have yet to see a heavy weight do a grammy roll. I hope that answers your question.
