American Motors/1979 cj-7 transfer case

Question
my jeep has a leak at the front end transfer case seal. I have tried all kinds of different sockets to fit the bolt that holds the yoke on the front of the transfer case. Do you know what size it might be

Answer
I do not remember the size, however, this vehicle might be invloved in a recall campaign. There was one for the replacement of the seal between the transmission and transfer case. You will have to get on the N.H.T.S.A web sight and see if they still have it listed. There is no time limit on recalls, but your vehicle might have already had it performed.
Otherwise, try using an adjustable wrench to measure the bolt size.
