Question
Hi I have a 69 ambassador automatic with power steering .The car has 80,000 original miles but there is quite abit of play in steering. can the steering be tighten at the steering box or do I need to rebuild the front end?

Answer
Maybe both.
Inspect the front suspension for worn components.
You can get a little adjustment from the steering gear by adjusting the sector shaft nut on the top of the box. To tight can cause a problem while driving. If it's worn that bad, it might need replacement.
