American Motors/74 Javelin Carb Conversion

Question
I noted your response re: changing the carb to a 4B on a stock 304.  What model Holley would you suggest and what else needs to be done to mount the unit properly.  Do you need some sort of conversion kit?

Thanks,

Answer
If the 304 is not modified and you will not be modifying it, go to NAPA and get a remanufactured 4 barrel from a 1978 or earlier Jeep 401/360 or a 1974 or earlier AMC 401/360.
A Holley 600 with vacuum secondaries would work, but it would require changing the jets and power valve to get decent performance and mileage.
