Question
I broke the key off in my ignition, 1986 CJ7. I tried to force it and the bezel broke off too. The key will not turn before I broke it. How do I replace the entire ignition switch?
You should be able to buy a complete ignition lock cylinder at a NAPA store. The procedure is more involved than what I have room for here.
I would recommend finding a manual at a book store, i.e. Chiltons or Clymer. Any AMC manual from 1971 up will work, they all used the same set up.
