Question
i upgraded my amc to one piece axles. had a professional press on the bearings. 3 months later sounds like the bearings are going out again. could my axle tubes possibly be bent making the bearing go out very fast? Also, what kind of axle would you upgrade to if you did a lot of off roading?? Thanks a ton!

Answer
I don't know what other rear end would fit. Check with some online Jeep websites and forums.
As for the AMC 20 rear end, to strengthen it, run a weld bead around the axle tube where is goes into the center section. This will make the axle more rigid and keep the axle tubes from bending as easily.
