Question
Can you describe what is necessary to change out the temp gauge on my 59 custom.  I have checked all and the gauge is faulty.  New gauge hooked to current wiring and all is fine.

Answer
You will have to remove the instrument cluster.
Remove the circuit board on the back of the cluster to access the gauges.
Swap out the gauge and reinstall the instrument cluster.
Place a towel across the steering column to prevent scratching it.
Good luck.
