Question
Can I replace the rear engine main seal in my 1969 390 AMX without
having to remove the engine? If so how do I do that?

Thanking you for your for your time and knowledge
in advance.

TERRY

Answer
Yes, but it's not easy. You have to remove the transmission & bellhousing. You also have to remove the oil pan, but because of the crossmember, you'll either have to raise the engine up, or drop the crossmember. Either way, the engine will have to be supported from above.
It's not an easy back yard repair, but I have seen it done.
