-----Question-----
Hello of France!
A friend of me had this problem.
the engine turns but does not start.
When the key is in ignition position, there are no sparks at distributor or coil.
There is just one spark (one time) when the key is back in off position.
ECU problem ? pickup coil (but 600 ohms at wires..)
Many thanx for coops.

-----Answer-----
Bon jour,
It sounds like you have a defective ignition module. What year is the Jeep?
Kevin

Answer
My experience with Jeeps is limited to 1979 and earlier. Your 1984 has more electronics, such as an ECU, that I am not experienced with. I do not have any repair manuals covering that new of a Jeep.
Might I suggest that you locate a repair manual for your vehicle. Even a manual from Clymer or Chilton's will have a diagnostic section that might help you out. You should be able to locate one online at Amazon.com or eBay.
Best of luck.
Kevin
