Question
my heater does not blow,,,i replaced the blower motor, and it still does not blow,,i took it back apart and noticed that the actual fan blade is not turning with the motor,it just sits there making weird noises and not turning. the nut that holds the fan blade on is tight ,but the blade is not turning ,  how do i get it to spin with the motor? 1992 chevy astro van

Answer
It sounds like the fan blade or "squirrel cage" will need to be replaced. It is probably made of plastic and the hole might be too big to allow it to be tightened to the fan motor shaft. Go to a local junk yard and you should be able to find one cheap. Bring along the old one to match up and make sure the hole is smaller on the replacement cage. Good luck.
