AnswerHi Marcel,
Was the keyboard that you replaced the faulty one with a new one? I'm not 100% sure about the Amiga 1200, but in most of the early Amigas, there's a "CIA" chip or "glue logic" chip that might possibly be the cause for the bad text if the keyboard's processor is shown to work fine. The difficult part of the A1200 though is that most of the components and circuitry are wave-soldered together, instead of being socketed for easy replacement.
It sounds like you might need to have a qualified technican take a look at your system. If you're in the U.S., you could try Software Hut (softhut.com). If you're in Europe, you can try AmigaKit (www.amigakit.com).
I hope this helps!
